Not too long ago I posted a blog post on the movie Divergent, and yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing the movie; so now I will be giving my review on the movie. Note that this will include spoilers so people who don't want to know what happens I suggest you don't read this. And please do not take this too seriously this is just my opinion.
Myself being a major fan of the books, I was pretty impressed with how the director interpreted the books. I felt that Shailene Woodley (Tris) and Theo James (Four) did a magnificent job in portraying those two important characters that many fans cherish around the world. The chemistry between them was amazing which made the film even better.
I have to talk about two of the scenes that I was so excited to watch. First the knife throwing scene, this scene is one of my favourites because this is where you start to see the chemistry between Four and Tris. It's so clever how Veronica Roth (author) wrote this scene by making it look like Tris hated her instructor Four; when in reality she liked him. I was very impressed with this scene and was happy they didn't ruin it for me. The second scene I was excited to watch was the Ferris Wheel scene and you know what I'm going to say. This scene was perfection, you could see that the relationship between them was blooming and you could see how Four and Tris' body behaviour around each other loosened up in this scene when they trusted each other to remain safe on that tall ferris wheel. And you could see both characters taking a secret look at each other which made the scene even more perfect.

This movie was hilarious and I think the room of people around me thought that as well. Majority of the characters were very sarcastic which created a funny atmosphere. I think I would have to say Four was the most sarcastic, even in the books he is very sarcastic. My favourite lines from the movie that made me laugh would be during Capture the Flag when Tris shoots Peter in the leg and he then screams 'BITCH!', and at the end when no one believes Tris will shoot them she says 'Why doesn't anyone think I'll shoot them'. These funny lines were a great addition to the story.
I am a bit disappointed in some of the scenes they left out, including the scene where Peter stabs Edward in the eye with a butter knife, resulting in Edward to become factionless. The reason I feel so strong about this, is because in the following book Edward is a main component to the storyline and I don't know how the director is going to proceed with the next movie without this scene. I am looking forward to see how they will manage to not change the story too much of the second book.
On the contrary, other than that the only other things they changed were small and were manageable to be taken out of the movie. In summary I think the movie of Divergent is a excellent movie and they have done the book well. I am excited for the next movie and I am looking forward to see the 'fourtris' (four and tris romance) relationship blossom throughout the next movie. I know all the fangirls
which includes myself are so pumped that this relationship to be on screen finally.
